Movie Queen. That's what my mom calls me. She has been telling me this since I was a kid:
"Since you love movies so much why don't you join the movie industry?" following by a trail of laughter.
Then, I would turn to her rolled my eyes and retorted sarcastically: "Yeah, sure. It's likely I'm gonna survive Malaysia's fledgeling movie industry."
But to be honest, I don't even have it in me. One of my earliest recollections when I was a kid is that I would look in the mirror and reenact scenes from the television. I would literally talk to myself infront of the mirror. One day, my mom caught me acting out a scene from a tv chinese series. From that day on, she could never shut up about it. Then teasing me came about.
But one thing's for sure: I truly have a passion for movies. I love going on an emotional roller coaster or experiencing a heart-pumping excitement when I'm watching a film. It helps to alleviate stress too. Go figure. I feel most comfortable when I'm in the confines of my home enjoying a good movie blanketed in my duvet.
Recently, I was completely obsessed with the movie, 500 Days of Summer starring eyecandy Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the ever stunning Zooey Deschanel. I love that the movie potrayed a somewhat awkward and torned love between the two and not your typical boys meets girl, screwed around then live happily ever after love story. The movie kept me up several nights in a row because even after I was finished, I just lay in bed wide awake thinking about it. I regretted not watching it in Perth with my cousins. I first came across it in the cinemas in Perth and totally misjudged it's movie poster. Note to self: Never judge a movie by it's pathetic poster. Watch the trailer instead. But usually trailers can be misleading too.
My all time favourite movie would be Beetlejuice. :D
In fact, practically any flim directed by Tim Burton I'm a fan of. Beetlejuice just so happens to be my favourite childhood movie. It's the kind of movie I can watch a million times over and never get dull watching it. :)
